EIU Team VerdePlast Accepted into IdeaLab Pre-Accelerator Program
The EIU team, VerdePlast, comprising Marwa Deeb, a 5th-year Architecture student, and Nour El Sabah El Omar, a recent Business graduate, has been accepted into the renowned IdeaLab pre-accelerator program. Their selection among the 21 teams out of numerous applicants for IdeaLab Cycle 4 marks a significant achievement.
Guided by their mentor, Mr. Hani Mawlawi, Director of Quality Assurance, Marwa and Nour presented their innovative business idea focused on producing bioplastic products from plants during a competitive session yesterday. Their groundbreaking concept impressed the selection panel, securing them a well-deserved spot in the program.
As part of their journey, the team will participate in a series of group workshops, where they will receive valuable mentoring from industry experts. In addition, VerdePlast will be awarded a seed fund of USD 1,500 to help them develop their prototype.
The team will have the opportunity to showcase their project during the highly anticipated Demo Day, where they will pitch their idea in front of a panel of investors and stakeholders, hoping to secure further support and funding for their entrepreneurial venture
